The power of speech is so important. they hold powerful messages filled with emotion. These speeches are more than just reading of some paper, or from a screen. They tell a story, they open up truthfully and speak in what they believe. They are standing up for us, caring for our planet, for us. They want change, and the power of a voice is strong enough to gather peoples attention. Speeches are an art form, they hold rhythm similar to poetry and music, they are playful and more intriguing making it almost a form of performance art.

free verse poetry demonstrates the lack of pattern and freedom of thought.

acrostic poems spell out names or words with the first letter in each line. While the author is doing this, they're describing someone or something they deem important.

the word sonetto is actually Italian for "a little sound or song." This form has grabbed poets by the heart for centuries. It began as a 14-line poem written in iambic pentameter.

haiku poems are three-line stanzas with a 5/7/5 syllable count. This form of poetry also focuses on the beauty and simplicity found in nature.

Visual poetry is written for the eye, but its methods and intentions, even in those works most limited in their verbal content, are always poetic, always compelling the reader forward into the transformative power of language, always entranced by—and entrancing through—the text that is before us.

A voice is a tool that transports us into the future. A future that has more possibilities and more solutions. A voice is a tool that can be used for standing up for what is right, rather than what is easy. A voice gives your opinions a platform, and gifts you with the opportunity to have perspective and knowledge on things that matter.

Voices can be used to create change. People can take anything material from you, but your voice is one of the things that cannot be taken away. Voices are meant to encourage other voices too, to unite and support each other. One of the most powerful things someone can do is to use their voice.

Rap is poetry
It has become a platform for young people to share their views on exploitation, prejudice, police brutality, injustice and violence. A new-wave of rappers have been associated with the sub-genre in recent times due to the police brutality and Black Lives Matter protests in the US – this has included artists such as Joey Bada$$, Chance the Rapper, Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole.
The use of imagery in poetry engages us in the same way as it does in rap music. Rappers connect to their audiences using the images they create. These images encourage reflection of the world surrounding listeners and enables a process of self-realisation.

In contemporary rap, sound often leads sense, defining rhythm, rhyme and voice all at once.
While some famous tales are written down, spoken word is the most well-known way to tell these kinds of stories.
As well as being storytellers, they are poets, historians, genealogists, and musicians. Griots often accompany their stories and songs with music from instruments like the kora

The typeset process refers to the selection and setting of type for a document. It requires editors, typesetters or graphic designers select the most appropriate size and style of every text chain and design element. Although the typeset process may appear simple, it is actually a very technical and time consuming activity.Glaring typesetting flaws can include the kerning, which is the spacing between the letters. This problem can make the letters on a page look uneven, or it can make them look crowded

Both rappers and poets, are consciously forging closer kinship between the genres. They draw from a common toolbox of language, use the same social media platforms to reach their audiences and respond to the same economic and political provocations to create public art.
